Someone’s got a hunch about you

June 16, 2009

Now, you can let someone else take care of the heavy lifting for you and make life’s tough decisions on your behalf.

Hunch is a new service that was launched yesterday by Flickr co-founder Caterina Fake. Using answers you provide to a slew of seemingly nonsensicle questions, the service retains that data and, well, makes hunches about you.

I’d write this off as a gimmick, but it really did correctly choose a car I’ve been eyeing for the last several months. Then it told my wife to vacation where she’s been daydreaming.

The Henry David Thoreau in me is crying at the thought of another hosted web service holding piles of random information about me, à la Google. However, my technosexual side is completely addicted.

Maybe they can tell me whether I should keep using their site or not.
