I’m not speaking financially (though that’s probably the case as well). What I’m actually talking about is Google making the biggest change to its simple homepage in years: going bigger.
Now, the search bar is much longer, the text a few points larger and the bottom buttons bigger.
With search terms getting longer every day, the longer search bar makes a whole lot of sense to me, however, I’m not sure what utility the larger fonts and icons play besides prettier aesthetics. In fact, the larger form reminds me a lot of Tumblr’s jumbo-sized sign-up page, though it still has a far way to go before getting that big.
Just shows there’s always room for growth.
