Google gets bigger

I’m not speaking financially (though that’s probably the case as well). What I’m actually talking about is Google making the biggest change to its simple homepage in years: going bigger.

Now, the search bar is much longer, the text a few points larger and the bottom buttons bigger.

With search terms getting longer every day, the longer search bar makes a whole lot of sense to me, however, I’m not sure what utility the larger fonts and icons play besides prettier aesthetics. In fact, the larger form reminds me a lot of Tumblr’s jumbo-sized sign-up page, though it still has a far way to go before getting that big.

Just shows there’s always room for growth.
